I visited the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts on February 11, 2024 to see an exhibition of woodblock prints of modern times. Let me show you some of them. First, those printed in 1935 by Katsuhira Tokusi (1904-1971) depicting rural life in Akita prefecture, northern Japan.
Then by Kurosaki Akira (1937-2019).
Lastly, an etching print by Jorg Schmeisser (1937-2019) depicting Kiyomizu Buddhist Temple covered with snow in Kyoto.
