There was an event of "throwing beans" on February 3, 2013, at an old thatched roof house near Center Kita station along the Yokohama subway. The event is set on the eve (or simply the day before) of the beginning of spring that falls every February 4; it is meant to drive away evil spirits that would come at the beginning of the new season.
