I visited Yakushi-ike park in Machida and took these photos of lotus flowers that originally came from India and have edible roots, on a hot Wednesday morning, August 6, 2014.  Incidentally, on the same day, a memorial sevice for the world's first atomic bomb victims was held in Hiroshima; the tragedy took place 69 years ago on August 6, 1945.
